Gina’s time with her Uncle Mike has revitalised a passion for culture

and heritage practices, something she first became inspired by and engaged in with her Mother.

"My focus is on cultural education through the learning that can only be taught to us by our Pa Metua (generation of our parents).
Our elders are so important to our community.
My parents, uncles and aunties have taught me a lot growing up.
Uncle Mike is a mentor to me. My focus is on supporting that transition of knowledge to others, with gentleness and respect of those who have come before me and shared their knowledge with me."
